what does it mean when a guy say it was to intimate?

had sex last night with a firend and after i kissed and cuddled him cause i think he is special and showed it
he recently split from his wife and he said that it wasnt the sex it was the kissing and touch feeling after it that was to passionate and intimate
he left upset and said he doesnt feel he can be like that to his heart heals? and said it wasnt my fault?
what the hell does that mean from me? what is he trying to say??? is it bad??
