What does it mean when a guy is talking to you, and his eyes wander around your body?

usually when he talks to me he looks into my eyes even when i'm not looking into his. but one day we were talking and his looked me up and down with a smirk almost. what does that mean? i wasnt wearing anything revealing. we had gym clothes on cuz we were in P.E. oh im 17
i want to know bcuz i didnt knw if he was losing interest in talking to me
