What does H on top of the connection on Motorola Defy mean?

Hi,
I have a Motorola Defy with Android 2 on it and there sometimes seems to be the letter "H" on top of the connection that normally says G, E or 3G? I live in London and my operator is T-Mobile UK - any ideas (this is just out of curiosity so doesn't really matter)?
 
GPRS = slow data speed - "G"

EDGE = medium data speed - "E"

3G = fast data speed - currently "H" on G2

HSPA+ = very fast data speed (4G) - also appears as an "H"
