What does GM's plan to phase out Pontiac mean for the future value of their cars?

As of the moment today that GM announced it's dropping the Pontiac name the average resale of a Pontiac is 20% less than it was yesterday. Nobody wants to buy an orphan.

Plain jane Pontiac's will loose value. However some I suspect will gain in value.

It all depends.. if people want it now then they will most likely want it later. The Pontiac G8 GXP might gain some value down the road as they become scarce and are a pretty popular model. Older models like the Collectors Edition WS6 Trans Am will probably also gain some value.
