I know it causes immense pain I've experienced it many times; and I know that heat helps. That doesn't do you any good when you're diving a mile from shore with three holes in your palm.
But what is happening inside there? How is the venom interacting with the tissue and nerves? I've also experienced soreness for several days after the incident, is some of the tissue actually damaged or dead?
