What does an O/D off warning light indicate on a Toyota 4R? Can i still drive it...

...with this problem ? My toyota 4R started showing O/D light flashing when i drive it without me turning on the O/d button.Also after stopping for a red light or so.i have to struggle pushing the gas pedal.to get it going.It does not accelerate fast like before untill you get the normal speed.Once you have speed no problem But it keeps on flashing the "o/d' light and it bothers me a lot How long can i drive before damaging the transmission Or should i stop it?

Yes I'd stop driving it right away because the problem you're describing sounds like you have a problem with your Torque Converter. It can also mean that one of your gears is shot. Like your planetary gear set. You might have a burned out clutch. Last but not least it could be your throttle valve cable (TV cable) could need adjusting or may have come loose off pulley at throttle on top of your engine.
