What does a jailbroken ipad/ipod/iphone mean?

It means that if your Ipod breaks suddenly, you're screwed because you'll get sewed if you try to bring it into Itunes due to the fact that it's illegal to jail break your iPod. My brother just jail broke his and now it's starting too freeze up. it's a bad idea.

A jailbroken iPod Touch or iPad is basically that which allows a third-party software called Cydia [not approved by Apple, basically because they're jealous!] to be installed onto your Touch. You can do loads of cool shit with this, like getting free apps, and turning your iPhone into a wifi hotspot, which basically means using your 3G as a wifi and giving it to those around u... like an all-time wifi!

This one is for those running the iOS 4.2.1 [can be checked by going into Settings>>General>>About].
My iTouch is jailbroken, and I love it. It become a little slow, but that's ok. I can bear with that!
And no doubt Apple kills your warranty, but you can always restore your iPod, and get it back!
So basically, no risk!

ok, it basically does soemthing to your ipod tht can make u get free apps.
it is NOT apple's own 'service'.
it used to be illegal. NOW, it isnt illegal, but if u jailbreak it, ur apple warranty immediately expires, and if anything ever happens to ur ipod, apple wont exchange it for another cuz u jailbroke it.
AND theres a risk u cud break ur ipod jailbreaking it.
I WUD certainly jailbreak it though.
if u wanna jailbreak an ipad, then look it up online, cuz i dunno WHICH ipad u have.
just go to youtube and type it in. theres alot of tutorials.
