Well AF, was about equality in society, in a way how could looking at how a population arrives at the conclusion that some are more equal than others.
Thanks to the Enlightenment and the secularisation of govt, Christianity now plays (thakfully, I've never been fan of mixing politics w/ religion) a minor part in governance. Regardless of what the evangelicals here in the US would like people to think.
I mean you could place the story maybe 200 to 300 yrs ago at the height of feudal christianity.
