so this whole music website stuff is all pretty new to me... i saw a lot of different threaRAB about what people were listening to asking their opinion. so i decided to post one about what i was listening to excited to hear what people had to say. well i guess i was a little shocked... some people can be jerks. but it was kind of exciting to hear your feedback good and bad. today i'm jammin' out to Alanis Morisette's-Jagged Little Pill... what do you think? have a good day everyone!
 
true but she's got a point, as soon as someone makes a remark which leaves them even slightly open to a torturous page of half arsed, half-witty insults and snide remarks, there are some people on this thing who fly to the occasion and cling on draining the blood like leeches. i don't think i'd bother to waste my time sitting round using discussion forums to try and put others down for being somewhat less inteligent or making an uninteligent comment. it just seems a bit belittling..
 
There are LOTS of arguments on this forum and lots of people who will knock your taste in music, not just the newcomers. It has happened to me many times and is even happening to me today even after 1,000 and something posts. In the end your taste in music is YOUR taste in music, not anyone elses. I enjoy arguing about whether an artist is good or not with other people. The argument can never be won, but it's still good to have a debate with (mostly) intelligent and fellow music lovers instead of having these same arguments at school where you usually just end up getting shouted over. Share your opinions, tastes and your thoughts in a reasonable way and we'll like you whether or not you like Alanis Morrisette.
 
within reason i dont see why you all can't love whatever the **** you want, who are any of us to set standarRAB of musical defenition, distinction or opinion on this forum, if your here to discuss music and you can explain why you like what you like in a sensible manner then you should be able to like whatever music you want.
 
to everyone who replied thanks! to you who said it's whiny PMS music i agree, and i think that's why i like it so much. it makes me feel like a b*tch and i'm really not. ha! to you who said i love Alanis rock on sista! the thing about me is i listen to anything and everything. i get off to hearing an old song and jammin' out to it (i'm sure all of you know what i'm talking about! especially you haters, ha!) happy st.patrick's day everyone! thanks again
 
The problem was/is hobo, that she said "hey I bought the GnR CD, what do you think"

And people couldn't type fast enough to flex music snob credability and say GnR sucked.
 
Shouldn't you be in bed? It's like 5:30 in the ****ing morning there. Theres a diffrence between answering the question and being a complete jackass.
 
Most of the people that trashed you for liking GnR are new to the site as well, and they want acceptance. I genrally ignore them unless their spamming.

There is solid music revue and exposure here. Stick it out, the donkeys will eventually subside. They usually end up banned.
 
While I agree that there are many arguments that really don't need to be started on this forum, I also feel that if she asked what people thought of that particular type of music then there are obviously going to be ones who like it and ones who don't. The people who I don't like are the people who mock the person for liking that sort of music. Fine, don't like the band, but in the end it's her choice whether she likes Guns and Roses or not so don't knock her about it.
