What do you think of what they say about media's portrayal of women?

They as in psychologists, I suppose. To sort of paraphrase what I've heard, the media has distorted the image of women, making people think that in order to be attractive, a woman needs to be thin, have an hour glass shape, and good sized boobs and buttocks.

Now, as a male in my 20's, I personally concur with that image of women as attractive, but who knows, maybe my mind has been distorted by the media. Would this mean that, in theory, if the media - on magazine covers, as movie stars, etc. - started showing obese women who are "out of shape" or perhaps thin woman with small boobs or buttocks, that I would find women of those body types, as opposed to the one mentioned before, as attractive, and that my sexual hormones would also react accordingly?

I find it hard to believe that would happen, but maybe it's different for me, since I've already reached adulthood and made up my mind. Maybe, I need to be reborn as a kid again into a world where women who carried more weight are seen to be the ideal body type... maybe then would the distortion effects of media would fully take hold of me, but that I'll never know.

Then there is that interesting idea that obese women were seen attractive a very long time ago, as evidenced by the paleolithic figurine known as the Venus of Willendorf since this figurine depicted the body of a woman with an enlarged stomach, breasts, and buttocks - hardly what would be considered attractive by today's standards, but back then it might have been a different story. Then again, that was over 20,000 years ago, but maybe it shows that there is an evolutionary reason as to why certain female body types are perceived as sexually attractive during certain eras that others, no?
I'm asking this because I am finding myself avoiding girls that I find to be physically attractive... because it feels so... wrong, knowing that the reason why I think they are attractive might have been socially engineered by the media.
Yeah lol that's how I am... I see some skin I go crazy
