League Name: World League Scrimmage
Summary
The game begins with the home team getting the ball first and then starting the game by throwing the ball in-bounds to a player, with two teams contend in each game, the team who scores the most points after 2 30:00 minute halfs wins. To score a point a player must throw the ball into the circular net which is tilted toward the field at each end of the field, each goal is worth 5 points. The field diameters are 70 yards in length and 30 yards in width.
The on field task is to rush the ball into the net before the teams "possession clock" which is 1:00 minute, runs out, and avoiding the opposing teams defense which are able to tackle at any point, the ball doesn't stop moving unless a player goes out of bounds or takes 1-4 timeouts. Each team is able to put 7 of there 12 roster players on to the field at once. There are 3 on-field referees to call the game. The rules haven't been finalized or are not finished, but here are a few:
Holding: (You cannot hold a player beyond 3 seconds or prevent him from moving for a period of time, nor can you hold him on the ground)
Penalty: The team is stripped of possession
Violent Acts: (Punching, Kicking, Tripping or Fighting)
Penalty: The player or players are ejected from game play
Those are the rules i have made that are finished.
Positions
Middle Field (MF) this position is essentially the "Running Back" of this sport and does most of the scoring.
Back Guards: (BG) this position does most of the tackling and defending the back field and the net.
Sidemen: (SM) this position accompanies the Middle Fielder on each side down the field to perform blocks and tackles, along with providing a pass option for scoring goals.
Second Back: (SB) this position follows the Middle Fielder down the field, its main purpose is to score goals.
Flex Position; (FP) this potion is able to get down the field in a hurry and score points, it is not meant to block or tackle
Any other rules you might think would apply to the sport would be appreciated, and i would love your take on this sport.
PS: the game is played on grass or turf, and the circular net is not like a basketball hoop. it is bigger and wider, and it sits about 4-5 feet above the ground.
