My Goodbye

you took my hand
and led me through the dark
yet somehow i knew
it had to be a farce

all those things we used to do
now only seek to remind me of you
it hurts me just to see your face
all those memories i can't erase

each time i see you with her
adds another crack to my heart
and another tear you've incurred
but yet, i can't bear for us to part

mixed feelings are the worst
especially for a heart that bursts
so this is my goodbye
i can't continue to deny

this is my farewell
what else can i say
there's not much left to tell
and yet to my dismay,

i'll always love you
somehow and someway
until death do us part
even through shades of gray.
