What do you think of the swine flu, media hype? I just heard....?

on the news that 300 thousand pigs are going to be slaughtered in egypt on sky news. Even though there isnt even a case there.

I feel this is media hype, as usual...Like the recession was complete and utter media hype.
 
yeah..more hype then anything else...but its always good to be aware...didn't know about he pig thing ......thats crazy....as far as the recession comments...that's not hype at all....my job is about to let go more folks...
 
Tens of thousands of people in the US die every year from the flu virus, so the fact that people die from flu is certainly not news. This particular strain of flu should be taken seriously, because it is new, and we need to find a way to defend against it. But the media is latching on to it and hyping it up because that's what passes off as news these days. The media's motto sems to be: "If there's news, we'll report it. If there isn't, we'll create it." And that's what's happening now. They are creating this piece of news because they know it'll get attention, and bring in advertising revenue.
