What do you think of the past, present and future of the human civilizations?

Past: What do you think of the ancient civilizations and human history?
Present: What do you think of the world nowadays?
Future: What do you wish for or think of the future development of human civilizations.

Brief opinion:
I am interested in ancient civilizations and world history. I wish I could go there to see the cultures of those civilizations.
In science theory: Time travel to past is basically impossible.
 
Interesting. There is some proverbs:

1 " He who doesnn't learn from the past shall be damned to repeat it in the future."
2-"History, both, repeat itself, and not repeat itself."

Unless Mankind learns from History, (which I doubt), the future of Mankind will remain misery at best, or even catastrophy.
