What do you think of the financial impact on churches right now?

Dozens of catholic dioceses are bankrupt.
Catholic.com is about to close because of finances.
Catholic schools are closing by the hundreds.

Local congregations at other churches are going bankrupt
Mega churches are trying to sell their $30 million plus compounds
Baptists are firing hundreds of missionaries due to low funding

Even the church next to mine is in the red every month and they say they will run out of all their savings in one month.
Very true. most churches don't have any savings.

many Churches including the baptist Church are self supporting, which can be nice and rough at the same time. it depends on where the Church is located and how big it is.

obviously the economy is taking a toll on each Church, so members must remain faithful and leaders must make improvisions and sacrifices in order to sustain itself.

however, i see the Church's demise coming soon. look around. people on YA are wondering why Churches even still exist? they think, "we're developed enough to consider dropping the nonsense of a divinity that can't be proven."

the Bible tells us that in the end times the antichrist will seek to persecute Christians. i don't see the Church (in the context of a public gathering in Christ's name) existing during that time.

This news is expected.
Governments will be laughing at it all for a short time then they will see how much charity work was done that they will then have to pick up.

Scary times ahead for church goers.

They still have all those bibles they can sell...
And I agree with the first answerer, are stained glass windows and statues really a necessity? Or merely for aesthetics?
