Letting Go/Frayed Rope
Let the water wash down on you,
Pouring rain.
You don’t fight cause you know it will be,
Just a waste.
But how long can you hold on, praying you won’t fall down,
Be taken away?
Tell me when it happened, when did you let go,
Left it up to fate?
But, I’m still here, still defending
So don’t you dare.
Leave me hanging, never again
Will you leave me there.
But I can’t pull you up,
And hold on for us both.
I’ve done it too long.
Cause, my rope’s fraying,
Yours is still strong,
You just chose to cut it down.
And if I,
Can’t help but let go please,
Don’t you ever think,
That I didn’t try my
Hardest for you.
But I don’t wanna fight you more,
Won’t do no good.
Cause I won’t stand and watch you die,
But know I’ve tried.

Blown Away
Walking on empty air
The window’s been opened
But you remain in place.
Won’t let yourself go now
Won’t open up to drift out
Behind those clear walls
Fleeting, evanescent in your small space.
You’re constantly falling,
As if there was anything to fall from,
Having denied your inevitable fall from grace.
The gusts blow in,
Screaming at the obstruction.
And you sit and remark
On the lovely breeze….
One can only go so far,
Still refusing to realize
The bubble’s been broken.
It’s over it’s done.
But your laugh stays musical,
You’re eyes retain their twinkle,
And as if you’ve escaped darkness’s caress,
You ride high.
