I posted this before but I have revised it and added a third stanza. What do you think?
The spoken word
Can disappear.
Fade softly into earth,
But it leaves foot prints on a memory,
It’s buried in the dirt.
The written word
Lasts for always,
Can never be erased,
For even if it’s murdered,
The evidence remains.
The silent word
Has a deathly tone.
It tramples through the soul.
Slowly killing the innocent,
Even if it has no worth.
