Ghost of love
By: McKenna Sandoval
~Vision~
For a brief moment I saw you,
Like when you breathe air on a cold winter day,
Your faint shadow brought me comfort
And when you said my name,
I melted as if I was a candle that had been lit.
~description~
Sitting at my vanity I raised my head
I saw you standing there,
I saw a mask,
I saw you love-hungry eyes,
I saw you reach for my hand,
I gave it to you and herd you sing to me.
~Hypnotized~
For how is it that I herd nothing except you enchanting voice?
How is it that I feel nothing but your touch?
How is it I see nothing but your face?
How is it that I feel that I love you?
~Lessons~
You taught my soul to soar,
You taught my voice to sing,
You taught my eyes to see again,
You taught my heart to open,
~Your Words~
“I’ve been watching you,
I’ve been loving you,
I’ve imagined our bodies entwining before,
Now I have you,
I will never let you leave me,
Say that you will love me forever,
Say that you will want me forever,
Say that you will never leave my side,
Say you want me.”
~My Words~
“When you were watching me, I was watching of you,
Where you were loving me, I was loving you,
When you imagined our bodies entwining, I was imagining it too,
Now that you have me,
Never let me leave,
Say that you will love me forever,
Say that you will want me forever,
Say that you will never leave my side,
Say you want me.”
~Proposal~
You gave me a box,
You kneeled to the ground
You commanded that I opened it,
You said those words I’ve longed for you to utter.
~agreement~
I opened the box,
I saw you kneel to the ground,
I followed your commands,
I said those words that you longed for me to utter.
~At Last~
A long awaited kiss has been called for,
A tilt of the head, a lean, and our lips lock,
Vast emotions over came me,
We are torn apart, looking in each others eyes,
Hungry for more.
~Uncovered~
I look in your eyes
And ask the question that has been pacing my mind.
Me: “Why do you wear a mask my love?”
You: “To hide my true identity for you would not love me without it.”
Me: “That’s absurd my love, I shall always love you”
You: “you know me, you never liked me, and you wouldn’t agree to marry me”
Me: “I do, I did, I will.”
~Unveiling~
I took off your mask,
You were right,
I knew you, I never liked you, and I would never agree to marry you.
Until now,
“If it was you that taught me, loved me and wanted me as much as you did
How could I not love you?”
~The end~
A smile and another passionate kiss,
And as we gaze at each other for a moment,
I know everything is going to be okay
I know that I am loved by you,
And I know that the hate I once had for you will no longer exist,
For you now are my love,
And I will love you forever,
As I hope you will I
This is now the start of our beginning.
As lovers not enemies,
I love you.
