What do you think of Jeep Wranglers?

I'm thinking about getting one, to go to work and school, and also to do some fun off roading and adventuring with. I think they're so cool looking! But the gas mileage is horrible. But insurance rates are low. Ugh...should I get one? (I'm 19 btw.) Also what are some other cool, not too expensive cars?
 
I wanted one, but it doesn't have great insulated heat (since the tops come off) and I heard they flip over easily.
 
The short wheel base makes for a rough ride which makes it hard on the bladder for any extended trips. Also, tire noise is pretty severe. They are great for off road, but I wouldn't want one as my primary vehicle.
