taxes? John Campbell, California Congressman, has proposed the following.....we need to have a flat income tax rate. Everyone pays the same % of there wages to taxes. It doesn't matter if you make $10,000 or $10,000,000. (If you are unhappy about only mkaing 10,000 DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT) Let's say this % is 30%. (For the record I make about $40,000 and pay about 25% of my money to taxes. My father makes $750,000 and pays about 42% to taxes)
Now after everyone has paid there 30% to taxes there will be another line that let's people add anything else they wish to pay to the government. This extra tax money would then be able to go whereever the tax payer wants it to go. If they want it to go to welfare then so be it, if they want it to go to the war then so be it. It's time for Democrats to put there money where there mouth is (Are you listening Clinton's? You guys made $100+ million since Slick Willy left office)
White Rose- The war was necessary for our national security. I'm not going to debate that here. But national security protects all of us the same, rich or poor. It is amazing we haven't been attacked since 9/11. And I'm not talking about flying planes into buildings. Because of Bush's policies we have prevented 5 terrorist from walking into an American shopping mall (where there will be poor people) with AK 47's and killing 100 people before someone finally kills them
Phil- Also a very good point. If rich people want to buy a Ferrari or yacht they pay more tax on that they others pay in income taxes.
Sunny sky- Couldn't agree more. But they claim they have all this "common sense" maybe something like this will smack them in the head and make them realize how dumb they are.
