What do you think of CGI in movies?

thats true.
when its done correctly and blends well. and it doesnt look fake at all its really good.
but when its crappy and fake looking like mirrors, the guys on fire and like he is rolling around but the fire kinda stays in the same shape and doesnt move realistically.
i hate that.

I like it when it's done well (Lord of the rings) otherwise it ruins it.

I really only like organic effects in horror movies, The Thing (John carpenter's version) for example, wouldn't have looked that scary or grotesque in CGI.
CGI is Computer Generated Imagery, it's when special effects are created using a computer, very common these days.

Lord of the rings, star wars, anything michael bay's created, war of the worlds etc...

It's good when you don't know something is CGI as it looks "real". It's also good when CGI is used but no one notices, like adding more people in a crowd.

With the right budget, I think almost anything you can imagine can be done in CGI now. With big-budget movies, I expect the best.
