What do you think of CGI in movies?

I like it when it's done well (Lord of the rings) otherwise it ruins it.

I really only like organic effects in horror movies, The Thing (John carpenter's version) for example, wouldn't have looked that scary or grotesque in CGI.
CGI is Computer Generated Imagery, it's when special effects are created using a computer, very common these days.

Lord of the rings, star wars, anything michael bay's created, war of the worlds etc...
 
depends on how its done...read up on the upcoming movie Avatar done by James Cameron its supposed to be the next big thing for movies and its done in cgi. But i also agree with what you are saying if not done right it can look bad and some movies deffently do not need cgi.
