I have this design project for a mechanical engineering class, and I need to improve a portable icemaker with a maximum capacity of 1 cubic feet. I don't need to design the whole thing, i just have to select one part or component of the ice maker and come up with ideas to improve it. So, which parts do you guys feel like could use some improvements or more innovation in an icemaker? Or overall, what would you like a portable icemaker to do better? Note that you don't need to have an engineering background, or know in detail how the icemaker works. I just want to here the opinions of people who use personal icemakers; any reasonable views are welcomed. Thanks in advance for your answers.
