...publishing? I mean, what do you think it takes to change them emotionally. I don't remember how exactly my transition occurred or what caused it. All I know it that now I'm, how do you say, thick-skinned. I look at a novel with a certain harshness I can only find in editors and cringe when novices whine about criticism.
What do you think causes these types of things? A mysterious reality check? Where does it come from?
