Facts about education in Indonesia (from what I observed as an Indonesian myself):
-long school hour is adored by most educators
-teachers are always 'right'
-free education is rare
-student orientation period is a time when new students have to be verbally (and sometimes physically) abused and do tasks that has nothing to do with education
-students who are major in social science(s) are described as 'not so intelligent'
-students are obliged to do the National Test. Questions are made by government people. Students who didn't pass the test can't graduate from primary, junior high and senior high levels and must repeat another year no matter how good are you at school. The period of the test is less than a week (three days for primary and junior high levels)
-Students' effort are almost never appreciated, no matter how hard you try
-Students are expected to adapt themselves with the teachers (not the other way around)
I only want non-Indonesians to answer this!
