I was more or less thinking, what if they didn't really even consider us to be alive, but just some sort of complex organic systems? What if they likened our behavior, our whole society, to the interesting formations that occur when vibrations are applied to a corn starch mixture (if you haven't seen it, watch the youtube video... it's crazy)? What if we're just viewed as a curious anomaly?
