I personally think this poem is very well written but I am curious about your opinions.

The Death of Seth

It was dawn, and she lay in bed,
And time stood still.
The other side of the bed was vacant,
Her husband, dead.
Long ago, he had died a tragic death,
The man had a heart attack.
His name was Seth.

They fell in love, the day they first met.
After a few years, they got engaged.
Seth’s sister planned the wedding, and the date was set.
The couple said their vows, together until the end.

Little did she know the end would come all too soon.
He died, on a Saturday afternoon.
She was out shortly before it had happened, spoiling herself rotten.
She had bought a fancy dress made of cotton.
She planned on wearing it out that night,
A lovely evening with Seth,
They would have dimmed the lights.

She arrived home, a grin of her face,
But she saw her husband, and shrieked.
She lunged out her arms, and knocked down the vase.
It sat on a table nearby, and then lay on the floor in shambles.

She fell to the floor,
And threw herself to his side.
She laid her hand on the shirt that he wore.
Feeling for a heartbeat, and he looked at her.
With one last breath, he whispered, “I love you”.
It was at that moment, that Seth had died.

She burst into tears, she cried and cried.
She knew he was dead but refused to believe it,
She called 911, as her soul tried to hide.
The doctors showed up, and confirmed of his death.
They bid her adieu, and suggest she rest.

She spent the night, quivering in fear.
There was no one around, no sounds to hear.
She nearly jumped when she felt something on her leg.
It was her dear little kitten, coming to comfort her.
At this moment, nothing could take away the sorrow she felt,
It seemed as though her heart would melt.

Now, years later, she’ll still look back,
Wondering if it were fiction or fact.
She knows the answer, that day remains true,
But it has her feeling oh so blue.

She’ll sometimes look out of the window,
Searching for tranquility.
She would allow her fingers to glide across the windowsill,
Which would gather up dust.

At times, she feels rather melancholy.
She takes her mind off of it, by acting jolly.
Over the years, she had become quite an independent woman.
Although She had learned to cope on her own,
And Seth had died,
She still loves him.
He will be in her heart,
For an eternity.
