My friend, the Ravitch Commission will be excellent for the city, because it fare on all MTA service will go up by 8%, instead of 23%, and subway, bus and commuter rail service will remain unchanged.
Now, if tolls are place on the East River crossing, drive will be forced to ride public transit, which will mean more revenue for the city and MTA. With that revenue, the MTA expend subway service to the outer boroguhs, complete the Second Avenue and add more bus on the roads.
However, if tolls on the East River crossing is implemented, they will have to give some sort of discount to delivery truck driver, or their companies, in order to maintain consumer prices low. Otherwise, we will be paying more at the supermarket.
In the end, the state elected official should get on board and approve the Ravitch Commission's report so the MTA does not raise the subway fare to $3.
Good luck
