Okay, so I want to create a good looking 3D Animation ON MY OWN. So If there ever were Voice Casting required I'll be the only caster. I'll be the only director, animator, artist etc. What softwares or hardwares I need to make a very good looking CGI film. I know I won't get anywhere near the pro industry based films but can anybody also tell me what tools do the Industry level CGI film makers use?

First of all you need a high degree of artistry, skill and timing. If you haven't attempted at animation or drawing, just don't even try.

Industry level programs include Maya, Shake, and others that I don't even know about, but it takes years and years of learning and studying, the programs are that complicated.

A good, free, program is 'Anim8or'. If you don't want to spend thousands of $$$ on a program, get this. It's very basic, but still difficult to do.

Good luck.

1. Creativity & Imagination
2. A good storyboard (like a series of drawn pictures that visually explains what your story is gonna look like)
3. A good toolset like 3D Magix or Maya

I've been doing animation since 2002 and have produced 30 sec shots that took about a week to create.

Everything starts with a good 3D model. You can create it from scratch (like a unique character, car or fantasy scene) and then animate it using keyframing & other techniques.

Lighting, texturing gives your scene realism. While special effects (fire, rain, smoke, explosions) give it the visual boost.

Hardware wise, a good dual core system with at least 2-3GB RAM is a good place to start. A decent graphics card with 512MB RAM is a must.
