what do you need to make a dirt bike street legal?

depends totally on where you live .. all states are dufferent lots of people would love their bikes on the road and it will never ,,ever happen because of laws in their state .. it's almost easier in many cases to just by a street legal bike .. then make it whatever you want it to be ... meaning illegal if you want to run .. non dot tires or no mirrors or whatebver .. the problem isn;'t so much getting caught it's getting the plate in the first place .. i assume most cops aren't looking at your tires to see if they are dot tires or concerned about a horn unless you've really made them mad ... i thought klx was actually a street legal bike .. maybe only certain years .. i know the new ones are ( i think )( i know i think )<<odd ..

Well to make your dirt bike street legal it will need the following items like, front and rear turn signals, tail light, brake light, head light hi and low beam, speedometer and odometer, ignition switch, engine cut out switch, license plate mount, registration at the DMV, dot approved street tires well the tires actually don't matter that much. i believe that you can get a street legal kit for your bike its called Baja street legal kits. Just type in in on google and go to their site and lookup your model and they should have one for your bike. Well hope this helps. Good luck.

i think lights (headlight, tail/stop light, turn signals)..

my brother in law has a dirt bike (i forgot what it is) and its setup is just like yours but it has lights, and its street legal

well it has to have everything to pass inspection in the state you live in.
but they need things like road tires, brake lights, high an low beams, horn. mirrors, turn signals *some states you dont need them* insurance,
