What do you make of these symptoms?

Hi guys,

Well i've been experiencing these symptoms for about two weeks now.

I've been experiencing this out of sorts sensation, along with this head pain that I feel along the crown of my head i'd say. Its not like a headache deep pain, but on the surface of the brain. In the mornings if feel alot better, especially after a good nights rest. But as the day progresses, I find my eyes start to feel dry, and right above my forehead starts to feel this discomfort I have. Neither tylenol or advil makes the discomfort go away. The head pain almost feels as if you have been studying for an entire day, and your brain is just exhausted and can't take anymore info. I find if i take a nap, even if its 30 minutes, I feel a lot better but I can still tell that head discomfort still lingers. I have no fever, no cold symptoms, nothing but the above mentioned.

What do you make of this you think? I've been trying to research this over the web for the last two weeks non stop. Im going to see my eye doctor this week, and my family doctor shortly after.

Thank you, whatever advice is appreciated

Hi, Kimosabe . . . do you work long hours at a stretch on a computer or with your head bent over something at a desk?

I used to get the dry itchy eyes, the brain fog and the discomfort around the top of my head as well as at the base of my skull to the top of my neck.

I eventually developed osteoarthritis in the neck from the poor posture over the years.

I have since learned to take frequent breaks from the computer or from reading a book to get up and move, focus my eyes at different objects and sit straighter (make sure you are at eye level to a computer screen so that you do not have to slouch with your key board high enough for easy reach) and this has helped alleviate most of the symptoms.

If you try these things and nothing helps, you may wish to see your doctor as well as your eye doctor.

Let me know what you find out!

Thx Lindaru,

As a matter of fact, im in front of a computer all day. From the time i get to work, when i get home. But can these symptoms be really all from that? That they would linger into the next day?? Like basically, I feel like i have a head cold but with out any of the sneezing, coughing or sore throat symptoms. Was this kinda what you had? and if so, how long did it take to get better after you changed your habbits?

Much appreciated, thx :)

You can notice a difference in a week or less. I do have allergies, so I imagine that is why the head cold feeling never completely went away and is random when it comes back, but the strain on your neck will begin to improve almost immediately.

The eye strain might, too, but you may still need a prescription for glasses or contacts from your eye doctor. For a long time I wore specially shaded lenses in front of the computer and it seemed to help. My eyes were not so itchy at the end of the day.

Yes, I try to sit nice and straight now and my neck and head pain are much less. I can tell the difference when I get up off of the computer and go sit somewhere else. Used to be I would ache immediately and now I no longer do.

Hope all of this helps!

Lindaru :)
