Sorry, but it screams amateur who is not in control of the camera. It is underexposed because the flash, (in auto), has tried to expose the white tablecloth for middle grey. You need to understand how exposure works in conjunction with middle grey and how you need to take control of the camera to produce a proper photo. Though post processing is no substitute for a proper photo in the camera, if this was shot in RAW, it could be easily saved with a slight raising of the exposure value. Even the JPEG photo as it is could be improved by masking out the pencil and raising the levels in the remainder of the photo.
