What do you feel about the licenses of recent shows?

After learning that Funimation licensed Eden of East and Casshern Sins and Bandai with Kannagi , I just want to know, what do you guys feel about companies going after shows that have been on air in Japan in the last few months?

I mean it's good that some of these show are being licensed, but there are also a lot of series from 3-4 years that still haven't come over.

It's good that they're starting to take the initiative and snag stuff that hasn't hit heavy rotation in the fansub circles so that they can offer something new(ish). Buuuut, by ignoring the 3-4 year old anime they're making it seem like the only stuff worth picking up anymore is less than a year old.

It just gets more and more discouraging that The Skull Man keeps being passed over for a US release

OK it's probably niche appeal but it's only 13 episodes (ok 14 if the live action episode 0 is counted) long and it will get some sales from just being made by Bones.
