What do you do right before the homecoming dance?? Pleeeaassee help!?

So, this is the first formal I've been to (I'm a freshman) and I have no idea what to do right before the dance! It's only a week away!!!!!! We had talked about just meeting there, but I want to get pictures and stuff before, plus I've heard some people go out to dinner beforehand?? Should I meet friends somewhere? By the way he's never met my parents!
I have no idea what to do! Please help!
By the way, I'm the one who did the asking, in case that makes any difference.
And I'm a girl. :)
