Me and my husband got married friday june 19th, 2009. he is active duty army and will be stationed at fort shafter HI on July 10th. The problem is i am not on his orders and his orders say that he will be traveling without any depends....how can i get on his orders? or what do we need to do? right now we live in AR and it is 14 hours away on a plane to Hawaii.....

You cannot go with him right away, when he got the orders he wasn't married, so therefore he got unaccompanied orders. He will either need to go to the closest base with your marriage certificate along with you and get your information entered into DEERS (you will need your birth certificate and SSN card). You get your ID then. You will need to take a EFMP screening which is medical to prove that you do not have a condition that cannot be handled in Hawaii. When he gets his orders changed to accompanied with command sponsorship then you can go. Most likely you will have to pay for your own ticket as he got the orders before he was married. The only way you can have your things shipped is if he sets up a move with the Single AD weight allowance. Anything over that will be charged. Only 1 vehicle will be shipped.
