What do you call this type of camping shelter?

I went to marine cadets as a teenager. When we camped out, we didn't use tents. We simply slept under waterproof rectangular sheets, with a bungee cord hooked through each corner to suspend it between 2 trees or branches we had dug into the ground.

Does anyone know the name for this type of shelter?
