What do you call... (Part of a car/corvette)?

What do you call the raised parts that are above the front wheels on the old style corvettes? I really like the way the '69, '70, '71 stingrays look with the huge bumps there but I don't know what to call them.

Also, which year or version had the most exaggerated front bumps over the front wheels.
