What do we need to go camping?

I am planning a 4 day, 3 night camping trip for myself, my wife and our 6 year old daughter. What supplies and equiptment do we need?

We will be fishing and hiking too.

Tent, sleepin bags, extra blankets, food, bbq if u want to cook the fish u caught, fishin poles, toilet paper, first aid kit, hikin boots, matches to make a campfire, flashlight, pots and pans, clothes both for hot weather and cold. You may also wanna bring a pistol or at least a huntin knife when hiking just in case you run into something.
Just the basic stuff I'm sure you can go online and look up some other things.
 
Are you car camping or hiking in to your site? Hiking in will limit your options for what to bring because of the weight but car camping doesn't let you really get away from it all.
 
A six year old needs their own set of stuff.

Whatever you get, get them that... in smaller size.

You get a hiking backpack, get them a hiking backpack

You get a fishing rod, they get a fishing rod.

You get a first aid kit, they get a first aid kit.

You get a lil chair, they get a lil chair.

Making them part of the experience helps them feel like they belong and are supposed to be doing what they're doing.

REI has lots of kid sized camping equipment and lots of checklists too.
