A 26 inch wide-screen 16:9 TV is smaller (less screen area) than a 26 inch 4:3 TV. So while 27 inch CRT televisions used to be common in living rooms, a 26 inch LCD TV would now be considered smaller than average. This is a common size television in bedrooms.
