...SETTLES FOR ALOT MORE LESS? I recently had a law suit and my lawyer said a certain amount and when I decided to settle he settled for alot less is this right?I was wondering did he pocket my money?and if he did how can I get what was offered in the first place???????

An attorney cannot accept an offer that you did not accept. Did you not sign some type of settlement agreement before you got your money? You should have, and you your attorney can ask for a copy of it, as well as whatever fee agreement you signed when you employed the attorney. They would be working on contingency and would get a percentage of any settlement. Between the two documents you would be able to figure out how much was actually paid and how much of you should have gotten, and how much your attorney should have gotten.
