I've noticed that some players, when they get knocked out, pack up enough gear to spend a couple of days in the forest. They have these huge backpacks they bring with them to the table. What do they have in there? Homework? Crossword puzzles? Snacks? It seems like it would have to be stuff they couldn't do without, but I never see people actually pulling stuff out of those backpacks. They only LOOK like Sherpas. Does anyone know what people keep in those bags?

I guess it could be snacks and/or drinks. I can kind of understand it, especially if they are locals and didn't get a room, but live far enough away to make it a day trip. I dunno, it makes more sense than the guys who wear a backpack in Wal Mart.

Anything they think they may need to let them stay at the table as long as possible. It could be any of the things you mentioned. It could be additional cash. It might be stay awake pills it may be vitamins, prescription meds or moist towelettes.

The reason you don't see them pull anything out of the packs is that the televised events don't show you everything. On TV you only see the last hour of what may be a ten or twelve hour event.

In real tournament play, it may be two or three days worth of ten hour days.
