im thinking of attempting to write a play (about the lives of teenagers btw) but have no idea how much to write about my main characters. so far ive included their age, what they look like, their style, attitude and family background. is that enough or are there any other details i could write about?
your advice would really be appreciated
thanks :)

Stuff like what they look like doesn't matter, because no one is going to pick one actor over another for having blue eyes instead of green eyes. What actors need to know is their motivation in any particular scene, so what you need to explain is the motivations of the characters. Spend even more time talking about style and attitude, and background.

Also, make sure your dialogue really sparkles. It's all going to be done with the dialogue, so your dialogue has to be really fantastic. Spend the most time writing and re-writing your dialogue.
