What do I wear to my Boyfriend graduation from Boot camp?

My boyfriend graduates from Boot camp Nov 6th. I have this really cute black top that I wanted to wear with jeans. but I was thinking jeans are maybe inappropriate. Is there a type of clothing they accept there? I am guessing No jeans? Any suggestions?
It's at Great Lakes Il. So it might just be cold! I believe it's outdoor.

Can you add some detail: is this indoor/outdoor, expected temperature for your area?

Okay, no military background for me, but I'll just give you my strategy. I would probably figure out some kind of pants outfit (maybe some nice khakis or something) that you could maybe wear tights or long johns under. Layers would be really good for that kind of event because you'll want to be warm enough that you can really be paying attention instead of thinking about how much you're freezing. Planning a pants outfit would let you decide the day of if you need to wear something more under the pants depending on the weather.

On the other hand, my sister is married to a military man now and it seems that there is a bit more competition to be "feminine" and whatnot and I wouldn't be surprised if some of the ladies still try to wear dresses out in the cold.
