What do I need to run website using ASP.net?

I made a website before for one of our campaigns and I use one pc in our network to server as the server. At that time I was using a cgi platform but this time I'd like to use ASP.net for more customized controls. I can still use one computer to server as our mini-server but do I need to install like microsoft.net framework for it to work?

I need help. I'd like to use asp.net this time because I need to use sql database as well. Thanks
