What do I need to get If I am replacing my base RSX stereo with an aftermarket unit?

I know I need the wiring harness for Honda/Acura cars, but do I need to get the plastic enclosure?
I like the stock enclosure because it has a flip cover for the cd case underneath the stereo.
Is it necessary?
Any tips?
