What do I need to do to prepare for a Law Degree?
I have a 3. 6 GPA (i will be a sophmore in college) and I am currently a political science and history double major. I have decided that I want to go to law school. (I have a low GPA because my mother has undergone surgery, and my priorities were set on her, so my GPA is expected to rise). I want to apply to Yale and Columbia University, but I feel that there is no need for me to double major. Should i double major? or have a major in just political science. (i feel that im not as interested in history as i am in political science.) What do I need to do? (I took a practice LSAT at my school and I receieved a 170, by how many points should i attempt to raise my score to get into Columbia or Yale? Also, is it possible to recieve a J.D. but study human rights law or international law?
Also, maybe should i go for an MA in human rights first, and then a J.D.?
