What do i need for a low maintenance fish tank? (Zebra Danios intended)?

I would prefer a tank where I did not have to plug anything in.
I would like it to be a healthy place for the fish.
6-8 Danios would require how many gallons?
Would a couple cats checking them out also stress them out?
I intend to keep a lid on things.

A 15 gallon tank would be a good size for that number of zebras. If your keeping danios you don't need a heater, and if you do 2 50-percent water changes a day and vacuum the bottom every couple of days you don't need a filter. Activities outside of the tank typically don't bother small fish.
