what do i do with the 1st bell in Zelda Spirit Tracks?

i'm at blizzard temple and have managed to ring the first bell. so i'm into the 2nd room where you have to move the box across the ice to a platform where you can jump onto it to get to the next one.. but the box doesn't seem to help and i'm too far away from the platform.. am i doing something wrong or is it just me being retarded? x
