My uncle is giving me his old 1987 Mazda RX7 (motor 13B) for my 16th bday as a "project car", and I need help in knowing what to do with it.
Its a beautiful car, but hasn't been running for 3 years now. He says that it wouldn't start or something. There are 133,000 km on the car currently. But the car's condition on the outside looks pretty solid. Only a few rust spots. I am completely CLUELESS when it comes to rotary engines, so I need help.
My question... Is it worth taking this car from him and restoring it? I know the APEX Seals are probably busted and the compression isn't that good either. But is it worth to put the money in, and in the end get something out of it that'll be worth while? (re-selling, keeping etc.) considering that I'm a highschool student that's not that experienced with cars?
