what do i do!? i downloaded the flash player... AND the new java.?

I've been trying to edit pictures and watch videos on youtube, but i keep getting the flash player notice. i've downloaded it and even the new java. but i keep getting the notice and i can't access the things i want to access. HELPPP! it's driving me crazy!
